Team Summaries (3 of 3)

Perth Heat
-Perth, Western Australia
-1 playoff apperance, 1 championship (2019)
-Rivals: Adelaide

Perth, an original franchise, has had mild success. Perth's ownership has struggled financially to keep up with the other original six and has failed numerous times to coax big time Australians to the western coast. Perth has been a middling franchise failing to put it all together to finish in the top two. With some recent successes they should be a contender when their front office eventually puts all the pieces together around star LF Mike Ortner.

Port Adelaide Magpies
-Port Adelaide, South Australia
-1 playoff appearance
-Rivals: Adelaide, Newcastle

Port Adelaide, commonly known as Port, is an exansion team located in Adelaide's port area. They joined the ABL in 2028 with Auckland. They reached the playoffs in their first year with a record of 35-26. They followed that up in 2029 with a 32-28 campaign. Their inclusion has upped the regional level of baseball in South Australia, and has pushed Adelaide to spend and compete each year out. Port should be a top half force as they build around 25 year old phenom Xavier Aldridge.

Sunshine Coast Falcons
-Sunshine Coast, Queensland
-Rivals: Brisbane, Gold Coast

Sunshine Coast, a 2022 expansion franchise, was started as baseball success form Gold Coast and Brisbane flooded the north Brisbane area. Sunshine Coast has yet to find its own success. With no star players and few prospects in their system, the Falcons will continue to struggle for the next few years unless owner Mick Davidson is willing to spend over a million dollars on player salaries to make an immediate impact.

Sunshine Coast's plan is to build around their all-time franchise leader OF Justin Sparks. Sparks leads nearly every stat for the franchise and could be a budding star as he enters his 4th year in the league.

Sydney Blue Sox
-Sydney, New South Wales,
-6 playoff appearances, 2 championships (2016, 2023)
-Rivals: Melbourne, Geelong, Newcastle, Canberra

Sydney, the last of the orginal six in this summary, is one of the better franchises in the ABL. With the largest fanbase and good financial backing they have a plethora of finals appearances. They have been a stopping place for many star players during their time in the league including Stefen Welch, Thomas Buckby, Derek DeLeo, Brad Parsons, Jing Foong, and many others. The most recent crop including Parsons and DeLeo who Sydney will build thier campaign around.

Sydney, albeit no quiet being able to get the job done, has been a model of consistancy with an overall winning percentage of .555. Sydney may struggle this upcoming year to secure a top half of the ladder finish, but no one could be suprised if their front office makes the right moves to finish in the top two.
