I believe in OOTPD too, but it is frustrating for people who did not realize this was happening until they lost players, or those who do not have a back-up or save BEFORE the cuts.

Sadly, I just discovered this problem too. All my backups are from the patched version. The amateur draft was just completed a week before this happened so there are many players that were drafted there with 4-5 star ratings as well who have now been dumped into free agency.
Very sad...I may be screwed unless Markus pulls a miracle fix.
