I have no idea how difficult the coding might be, or even if it were feasible, but what if there was the ability to input a "phantom" player into a trade, a rudimentary placeholder which would be an approximation of the player or prospect you'd be looking to flip from Team A to Team B, in order to gauge Team B's interest and to tell the player if it's even worth pulling the trigger on trade #1.
Just kind of thinking out loud of a way to get closer to the utility of three-team trades without the nightmare of it needing to be coded that way.
