The pitcher is nearing the end of club control and they want to get somethign before not paying him -- or somethign simpler with similar effects. something is creating value (or a perceived loss of value) from their perspective. the recent season may be enough... it may be a culmination of multiple factors.

correct me if wrong.. ai eval only affects overall and potential. the individual ratings are based on scouting accuracy and your scouting director. so, looking over scouting reports will tell you alot more about that SP then his season stats during that time. with pitching, it is important to make sure a pitching repertoire is not suspect. for batting i can't think of much. This SP may be a 1-2 star with lipstick on.
