Burnett actually threw two fastballs. A 4-seamer and sinker. He also had a curve and change up. This would register has 4 pitches on Ootp.
Early in his career he relied more on the 4 seamer but later he threw a lot more of the sinker as he lost velocity. He also threw a lot more change ups in the second half of his career.
To the O.P. You can sometimes get good results with a two pitch starter but I would set him with a quick hook. You can experiment with it but in general starters with 3 plus pitches will perform better.
