We had 20 hits, 6 walks and struck out 4 times against Butler and Kid Coblentz (25-3.4), who came on in the 9th after we had scored 4 times in the frame off Butler.
We made 4 errors and the Cowboys made 5.
Ed Aldrich had 4 hits with a double and a walk, stole 2 bases, scored 4 runs and had 3 RBIs. Best 2 days I can remember a hitter ever having for me. In the last 2 games, he has had 9 hits, scored 9 times and had 7 RBIs. Ducky Foster did not get a it, but walked 3 times, stole a base and scored twice. Al Lewis hit a double and drew a walk, scored a run and had an RBI and struck out 3 times. Ben Smith had 4 hits with 2 triples and a walk, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. Dave Odekirk hit his 6th home run of the year and had 2 RBIs. Pat Dunbar had 4 hits with a triple, score a run and had 3 RBIs. Sam King had 2 hits with a triple, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. Tom Trever had 3 hits, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.
Liberty League:
Cleveland (13) at Indianapolis (3): Willard Clapp (27-4.3) (1-0) in his season debut over Billy Simonsen (24-8.0) (10-5). Clapp allowed 8 hits, 4 walks and struck out 2. At bat, he had 2 its with a double, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. C Deacon Dubin (32-8.8) had 4 hits with a double and a walk, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. 1B Dave Kelly (27-6.0) had 2 hits and a walk, scored 4 runs and had an RBI.
Pittsburgh (6) at Cincinnati (15): William Butina (26-5.6) (8-9) over Joe Peters (33-4.9) (6-9). Peters walked 12. Manager/LF Silver Borresen (35-6.9) had 3 hits with a triple and 2 walks, stole a base, scored 6 runs to tie the major league record and had 3 RBIs.
Boston (4) at Louisville (5): William McLeod (30-5.6) (8-10) over Freddy Wood (33-6.4) (5-9). McLeod allowed 5 hits, 4 walks and struck out 8.
Grand National Association:
Providence (5) at Omaha (6): Skyrocket Rice (24-5.2) (13-9) over Tom Ashton (25-5.2) (11-8). Ashton, who led the GNA in wins last year, has lost 5 of his last 6.
Washington (4) at Milwaukee (5): Dave Ward (24-6.1) (11-14) over Ed Bush (29-5.3) (12-13). Washington out-hit Milwaukee 12 to 5 and only made 1 error. Ward allowed 12 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. Bush allowed 5 hits, 4 walks and struck out 3. At bat, he had 2 hits with a triple, scored a run and had an RBI.
Buffalo (4) at St. Louis (5): Jimmy Richards (26-0.9) (13-13) over Wild Bill Perrell (27-7.3) (11-10). The Terriers scored twice in the bottom of the 9th to win. The game ended on an error. Richards allowed 7 hits, 4 walks and struck out 4. Perrell allowed 9 hits, 1 walk and struck out 1.
Brooklyn (4) at Chicago (6): Pat Seguin (25-4.4) (18-10) over Al Green (26-3.8) (13-10). Seguin allowed 4 hits, 3 walks and struck out 3. He has won 7 in a row and 12 of his last 13. Green allowed 10 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5.
