Providence (7) at St. Louis (8): Jimmy Richards (26-0.9) (12-13) over Tom Ashton (25-5.2) (11-7). The Terriers scored 3 times in the 8th and twice in the bottom of the 9th to win. C Cy Morton (29-4.6) knocked in the winner with a 2-out single. He had 4 hits, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs.

Buffalo (4) at Omaha (9): Skyrocket Rice (24-5.2) (12-9) over Wild Bill Perrell (25-7.3) (11-9). Rice allowed 8 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2. CF Dave Todd (24-5.5) had 3 hits with a double and his 3rd home run of the year, scored 2 runs and and 3 RBIs.

Brooklyn at Milwaukee and Washington at Chicago were both rained out.
