Grand National Association:
Providence (6) at Brooklyn (3): Ed Wison (28-7.3) (12-8) over William David (26-3.6) (10-8). Wison allowed 6 hits, walked 10 and struck out 6. I knew William David was the antichrist! He allowed 6 hits, 6 walks and struck out 6. On a Sunday, no less!

Washington (1) at Buffalo (6): Wild Bill Perrell (25-7.3) (11-8) over Jiggs Niedermeyer (25-5.8) (1-5). Perrell allowed 3 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1. Niedermeyer allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 6. At bat, he had 2 of the Monuments' 3 hits with a triple and a walk, but no runs or RBIs. He deserved a better fate than this....

Milwaukee (6) at St. Louis (10): Jimmy Richards (26-0.9) (11-13) over Andy Byl (35-4.0) (0-1) in relief of William Peterson (23-7.7). Peterson had to leave after 4 innings when he bruised his knee sliding. He should be fine in a day or two.

Chicago (2) at Omaha (8): Lee Sprague (29-3.5) (10-13) over Skyrocket Howard (24-5.4) (10-7). Pitching without a day off, Sprague allowed 4 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4. At bat, he had 2 hits, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. LF Tom Durkin (23-6.6) had 4 hits with a double and a triple, stole 2 bases, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.
