Pitching stats question
I don't know what I'm missing, but I'm probably going to facepalm myself after hearing the simple answer. The question is this: how does a relief pitcher come in with a save opportunity, finish the game and not blow a save, and only get credit for a Hold? I noticed a pitcher with the following stats:
2 GF, 3 HLD, 3 SVO, 0 SV, 0 BS.
Doesn't finishing a game - in a save opportunity - elevate that pitcher from a Hold up to a Save?
Thanks.
