Yes, lifelong Mets fan. I love Mookie Wilson and even spent some time watching his son Preston at spring training when he was in the minors. I had to figure out some way to get an upgrade over Rafael Santana at short (the dude hit .198 or something like that in '86 IRL). So, I had a deal where I could ship off Mookie or Lenny so I decided I'd keep Lenny as he is coming into his prime whereas Mookie is older and more expensive.

All kidding aside, I don't usually do historical, but a few versions ago I started up with the '87 Mets, to see if I could avoid the pitfalls the real Mets fell into in the late 80's and early 90's. But I couldn't resist grabbing Greg Maddux for a bunch of nobodies (too long ago to remember who), and I got so annoyed with myself for using my own knowledge of the "future" that I basically never played historical again. Some people use house rules to eliminate that type of thing, but I didn't have the discipline. |
