The thing I love about colorizations is that, the more you do, the better you can get. And the better you get, the better you
want to get. At least that's been my experience.
Mind you, the point of this post is that there are many many others out there of whose work I am in absolute awe. I'm a hobbyist; folks like ortforshort are artists (IMO).
I just came across this on line. This is a colorization from
Marina Amaral. She does this professionally. In her "about" section, she mentions photoshop, but I don't know if that's the software and/or the
only software she uses. And this was the only sports photo I could find. She is largely focused on historical images, most of which are far more complex than this one (which makes them all the more impressive).
Her work is the best I've ever seen and, while I doubt I could ever be a hundredth as good, it nonetheless inspires me to try harder and get better.
