I live in Halifax, NS - east coast Canada, grew up here and lived here most of my life except for all the times I was moved around during my 30 years of service.
I created a league loosely based on a real league - NSSBL (Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League)
Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League
I've followed this league a lot, especially since I retired in 09. The real league has 5 teams, I added a 6th for scheduling simplicity.
Teams play 40 games, 8 gms against everyone else. Teams play 4 games a week, every Sat & Sun, plus Tues/Wed or Tues/Thurs, or Wed/Thurs. (Custom made schedule)
I could go on and on about all my custom details, but you get the idea. It's very easy for me to immerse myself in this league and grow it into a world, because I can create a million story lines that all fit Nova Scotia.
You keep saying you don't have time, which leads me to think you're in a hurry to sim. Why?
Some days I play out 1 days worth of games, (I play out every game of the league) some days 1 game. There's no rush, you don't have to get a bunch of simming done. Play at your pace, whatever fits your schedule. You have all the time in the world, your league doesn't have to evolve into a "World" the first day you start it up.
When I say play at your pace, I am also answering your plea in another post about getting your life sorted because of how busy you are. There's a million suggestions, but one simple answer - balance. Fit what you have to do into a balanced schedule that fits your time. Applies to your OOTP League and Life.
G/L in both ventures.
