I simulated five seasons and the range of "season ending injuries" for players were from 6 to 12, with an average of 9.4. So around 10 season-ending injuries each year. However, since I run a short season - June through August - I considered a season-ending injury anything that was more than 4 months. So a two-week injury the last week of August is not considered season ending even though that player would be out for the last two weeks of the season.
My league has 24 teams. So, I guess that would mean about every 2.4 teams experience having one player gone for the season.
Just wondering how the stacks up to "real life". How many players are typically out for 4+ months in a regular baseball season?
Do you think my settings are correct, or should I try to look into something?
