I've never tried a league that overlaps calendar years like that. When the season runs from November to March, which year appears in the "Year" column in the stats column? The first or second year?
It's funny how different our opinions are on teenagers. I like having more young players in the minors so I often add extra rookie leagues and set the IFA pool size to the maximum.
