1982 Fall Classic - What a series!
Los Angeles (AP) - The fans are going nuts in LA! The Dodgers have won the World Series 4-2 over a beat up California pitching staff. Going into the series they lost #2 SP Rawly Eastwick who had a regular season record of 20-15. California won game one by a 1-0 score, but LA rebounded when the Ryan Express shut down the Angels 3-0. The next 2 games split with Tanana getting his 2nd win going the distance. Now game 5 had all the thrills a WS game should bring. LA took a 3-0 lead in the 4th on a Reggie Smith bomb but the Angels climbed back and notched the game at 3 going into the 9th. When Bob Brenly hit a timely single off ace closer Dave Laroche scoring Jim Rice. With a 4-3 lead, CL Doug Corbett got slugger Reggie Jackson to fly out with 2 runners on. It was all LA in game 6 beating up on the Angels 6-1 to take the title for 82'.
