Transactions:
none

Injuries:
MR Alfonso Hernandez, strained oblique, 20 days
3B Stuart Valle, pinched nerve, 1 week

Other/Roster News:
Pepe Martines was moved to the bullpen after his lastest start. I feel like he just needs some more work. He will head back into the rotation if we have a lot of games in a row, or if Ballard doesn't pick things up... either way I am still a SP of quality down.

GM Notes:
Nope you aren't hallucinating we really just pulled off a 5 win week and even won 4 games in a row. Things were bright in Chadds Ford this week. Most of it was driven by our pitching, keeping their runs down, but our offense did show a little life. I am feeling a little bit better about this team, but we still have a long way to go.

Our bullpen is looking good. Kessler finally got a few good save opportunities and Cho and Payne are tearing things up. I am liking what I see here. I do need to figure out how to get Wilkinson up from AAA he really isn't a AAA player.

Blake Ballard is off to an awful start. I actually thought I was getting a "steal" when I signed him, but it seems like he has gone down a rung or two since then. Right now he can't seem to keep a game close and is getting hit hard. He has only given up 4 HR's in 30 IP, so you can't even blame the long-ball. He will get a few more starts, but if he continues to struggle I may have to think about sending him to the bullpen.

One thing I did notice is I feel short on finding pitches with high-control ratings. One thing I did in Norfolk was target 14 and above to be starters. Here I have a lot of 9 or 10 guys and it really seems to be affecting the outcome of games. Can't win games when you walk too many hitters... and I am learning that the hard way.

My team is complaining about lack of veteran leadership and I guess I can understand that. I don't have a lot of players with experience on this team, and only 3 players are over 30-years. The player with the most DBL experience is my new addition Julio Jaramillo, but he has "very low" leadership skills. This is something I probably should of paid attention to before signing him. I have a few "high" guys, but they are all first or second year players, and of the 3 "very high" guys only pitcher Alfredo Mejia has more than 100 games played... This is something I will need to pay attention to in 2032 when looking for additions to the roster... its not good seeing a bunch of red-faces on the roster.
