This comes up every year, the solution is to turn off trades for the first few months of a new league.

What happens is the rosters are set up based upon real life, then the AI takes control of them. The AI GMs have their own ideas about what their rosters should be and make an effort to change them. This ends up with a lot of roster moves when you start.

It calms down after the initial AI gets about what they want for a roster, but if you turn off trading until near the first year's trading deadline, the AI will have a better idea of what to do.
