I have built a number of PC's from parts and this just isn't true. You can actually buy a standard PC on special for less than the cost of the parts. AND you don't have the hassles of installing power lines, heat sinks, fans, etc., all of which is a huge pain in the ass. Plus you get little or no tech support or warranty to speak of.

I've done it. Don't do it.
