In file- settings set these to "no" semi transparent background, use team color for interface controls and team text color on labels this makes it much cleaner looking and easier to read.
I feel the ootp 17 skin with those options off is just as good as last year.

There are some teams that have bad combinations of colors like dark blue with red text color, for those you may need to change the text color to white to make it easier to read.
