What a career...Thanks, Obama!
In test league...
October 2016, a 30-year-old Cuban free agent signs a $100,000,000, 5-year contract with the Dodgers. (Perhaps Obama's visit to Cuba opened the way for this signing!)
Jose Marines proceeds to smash the ball for six seasons, leading the majors in HRs in five of those six seasons. He averages almost 48 HRs a season. A true monster of a player.
Then his skills fall of a cliff: the year after hitting 51 HRs for the Dodgers, he swings his bat for a AAA team, managing to lift only 12 balls over the outfield fence. Then after his one minor league season, he exits professional baseball.
