The Curious Case of Dustin Pedroia

Boston and it's manager seem to hate him.

No matter the settings (default or custom, stat heavy or pure ratings) Pedroia always finds himself benched after a few months into the season despite his ratings and stats which are usually good.

A few months in, Boston likes to move Mookie Betts from RF to 2B while not only benching Pedroia but relying on a variety of fringe RF's to cover who are also poor fielders. Boston end up scrambling for a replacement RF via trades, ending up getting marginal players at RF in return when they could have simply fixed their problem by moving Betts back to RF and starting Pedroia at 2nd.

I noticed Harrell has a preference of power and speed. The guys who usually replace Pedroia in the lineup at RF always have a slightly better power (or equal) and of course way more speed. I know corner OF is not really a defensive position but I am not sure if the AI should sacrifice defense and a good bat just because the player is slow and have slightly less power than his replacement. Anyone else see similar things going on?

Pedroia has a 7 rating (2-8) at 2B
