Its placement seems like it would collapse the standings in the header of the page, but it actually shows/hides the toolbar on the right side.

I would actually argue that showing/hiding the standings would be more useful as this would reclaim extra space in the crowded header. The small amount on the right side for the toolbar hardly seems worth it.
