I like to take control of a team in a particular historical year and then run a parallel universe from that point forward.

Is it possible to start your historical franchise at the start of an offseason rather than on January 1st? I would like to mimic a real life hiring, taking over for a fired GM at the conclusion of a season and be able to go through free agency, the Rule 5 draft, etc.
