I don't remember ever coming across that story line, before. And have never even considered actual player deaths being in game. But it's still amazing how much immersion those types of storylines add to the whole experience.
Or when your owner dies and the uncertainty of the new ownership's personality being so much different. Leads to some in game fun (but likely real world frustrating) times.

It would be quite immersive seeing HOF pass away with a news story of their career. Then that gives you pause to look through their great careers like you do in those scenarios in real life.
