WPA stands for win probability added.
Y-axis is % chance to win the game. Middle horizontal means 50:50 even chance. All the way down means 100% chance one team wins. All the way up means 100% chance the other team wins.
X-axis is time through the game (often presented in innings). Each play is another dot on the graph that calculates a new % chance of winning. All the way to the right is the end of the game.
Another way to look at it is the largest movements on the graphs are the most important plays of the game.
