We use Stints (which are determined by the start and end dates they played for any given team) to determine which team a player starts with.

For example:
If Wright played for Binghamton from 4-7-2004 to 6-7-2004 and played for St. Lucie from 6-8-2004 to 9-3-2004
Stint 1 would be Binghamton and Stint 2 would be St. Lucie. So he would import with Binghamton.
Now if we didn't have dates, then this could be reversed depending on how well we guesstimated.
Hope this makes sense.
The above quotes (from separate threads I believe) lead me to believe that using (reasonable, if not 100% accurate) minor league historical transactions would be possible at some point - that the data exists in the MiLB database - but is just not yet coded as an option in OOTP yet.

In other words, since (a) minor-leaguers are imported to correct teams in the first year, therefore, the correct teams are known for every year, and b) stints are known (or reasonably guessed) for players who played for multiple teams, a reasonable MiLB historical txn file is possible.

Not yet known is whether, in OOTP17, we can play w MLB historical txns, whilst the minor-leaguers float around to "where the game AI or human player takes them."

Any truth in any of that, or am I lost on Hawaii's I-50?
