Our National Game
The local Troy club continues to play excellent baseball, bringing honor upon the region. They are currently in a pitched battle with Boston and Chicago for National League supremacy, and much of the reason is the young infield. Roger Connor, the first baseman, was expected to be a star, so his average of .361 is hardly a surprise. However, third baseman Fred Warner has raised his average to .331 and a dandy newcomer named Fred Pfeffer is batting an amazing .366. If these three can keep up their lofty play there seems no limit to what the Trojan boys can do.
