Why give bench players starts and at bats if the regulars are all iron men?

I have a completely different view. Unless I have durable or iron man batters I have to rest players any time they play 10 days in a row. That seems to be the default situation. Catchers are a different situation. At least you must rest your starting catcher once per week.
In my experience fatigue is well handled in-game. What type of league is this?
Edit: A team full of "iron men" suggests that a problem exists in player distribution. Such players are rare.
