So does that mean for the 1963 season the American Association disappears, and its clubs get dispersed to the International League and Pacific Coast League? And when 1969 rolls around the American Association returns, with some of its former clubs leaving the Pacific Coast League?
And what of proper schedule lengths for all these minor leagues? What about the playoff formats? (I did pass along data to the guys in regards to the latter; don't know if it got used or not.)
Also, in terms of minor league clubs moving, I'm going to point out there is no reliable history of minor league franchises. There is disagreement between sources in some years as to what actually happened within a league. (There were also numerous instances of franchise moves
during a season, which I presume is not being recreated.)
For example, the 1989 New York-Penn League. One source lists the Niagara Falls and Welland clubs being added as expansion teams. Another source lists the Watertown club as having moved to Welland, with an expansion club then being added to Watertown. These are not the same situations (though the end result in terms of league line up is the same).
