Unfortunately I don't have a Mac to test the site out with, and I know that some Mac users have issues with the OOTP utilities that I can't replicate on Windows. Hopefully this isn't one of those situations. Have you tried Firefox?
edit: In a bit of testing, it looks like Firefox posts less data than Chrome does for some reason, at least in Windows. My guess is that Chrome is adding some header data or something, and Firefox might be able to squeak under the hosting company's limit.

Thanks for the suggestion, the imgur option in Firefox looks like it generates a working .png file on Mac. Awesome!
