Injuries:
SP Yoshtoki Mori, Torn UCL (Tommy John Surgery), 2 weeks
When Mori gets better he will be sent to AAA to get some reps under his belt. As long as he is pitching well he could see a short rehab, as our rotation could use a boost. I am hoping he comes back and looks good and maybe have some value on the trade market. If I could deal him for a SP prospect that would be great.

GM Notes:
Our baserunning was a lot better this week. We seemed to be getting better jumps or just playing worse catchers. Burns, Inman and Olivas lead the team with 3 steals. Olivas is the only one who hasn't been thrown out yet.
Woody Brown is on a tear and I just wish someone else would help him out. Right now we have Inman and Brown leading the offense. Speaking of Inman I am hoping he can keep this up. He looks good and is putting up some big numbers for a kid who has never seen a pitch above double-A before this season.
I had this dream that Francisco Reyes would come in here and lead the team. Just be a team leader and put up decent numbers. I was hoping .265-20-65. I wasn't going crazy he is 40 with sagging ratings. But as the season goes on I am starting to get concerned, I think his days are up and maybe being in the starting lineup isn't the best idea. I just hate to do that to a hall-of-famer like Reyes. Last season in 77 AB's he hit .247-6-16, maybe I should of taken that as a sign... I think he will move to the bench, but still play every 3-4 days. This may be one of the toughest moves I have ever had to make, but I can't have a guy hitting .133 (4-30, 8K's) in the starting lineup for too long.
I like this team, and the funny thing is I am still getting to know them. I think we have a solid core. Yes I really do. We could use 2-more starters and 2 more bats and I guarantee we would be right in the middle of things. That is how much faith I have with the rest of these guys.
We do need to win some more games, but at least we are keeping the games close. We had some chances this week to win against the Blue Jays. One thing goes differently and we end up winning 3 of 4, not losing 3 of 4. I need our rotation and our offense to pick it up a little bit. The defense has been great, I think we turned 10+ double plays last week, and the bullpen is solid.
We aren't world champs, but we are a team with a bright future... at least after 2-weeks that is how I feel. Trying to keep everyone positive around here...
