Alright so before I go over our season awards I will go through our team history and explain some of our players shown by our team leaders.
This just shows our career record as a team, and it's coaches not much else. I like to try and balance my coaching staff though, because I like having good play callers at coordinator, as Larry Fitzgerald is good at everything but play calling. I actually used to have Matt Hassleback as my assistant coach and I was going to promote him if we had 1 more bad season to the head coach and fire Fitz, but he was drafted as a coordinator (there's a staff draft instead of coach free agency, the only way you can take another teams coaches is through promotion) and I lost him.
This just shows our interesting team history. We started off solid and I thought we'd be good off the gate, but then after season 2 we imploaded, after a huge step backwards from our then "franchise QB" who turned out to be a bust. I then had to start a full rebuild. Now let's take a look at my players of past and present.
Carlton Pasricha- Drafted 14th overall in our 2016 draft, he had all the tools and potential in the world to get it done, but he didn't. In 2016 he started the first 11 games of the season before injuring his knee and missed the final 5 games and the playoffs (we lost in the wild card round), which he would have been able to come back for the divisional round. That 2016 season though was a glimpse of hope for the future when he threw for
2245 yards in 272 attempts completing 67.3% of his passes throwing for 14 touchdowns compared to just 9 interceptions with a 95.9 passer rating He was a non factor running the ball, as he was more of a prototypical pocket passer. That knee injury may have affected him though as the following season (2017) he threw for
2650 yards on 464 attempts completing 62.3% of his passes. He then threw only 12 touchdowns compared 22 interceptions 2018 was pretty much the same and by 2019 he was a 3rd stringer who was cut in week 5. He then signed with Green Bay a few weeks later completely bombed in 3 starts and never threw another NFL pass. He did however hang around as a 3rd stringer for the Vikings in 2020 who appeared in a game but didn't accumulate any stats. In 2021 he signed with the Sea Hawks, never appeared in a game and was cut in week 8. He then retired following the season.
Todd Gurley- I'm not going to go as in depth as I did with Pasricha, mainly because I just thought he was an intriguing player. Basically with Gurley he was a huge under performer. He only averaged over 3 yards a carry once, and was a huge baby. He held out before his 4th season, and I didn't have enough cap room to resign him which I was going to do anyway, as he just came off his only good season and I thought he had turned a corner. In the middle of the season, when I had more money he refused to negotiate citing being insulted by the team after he ended his holdout, and for the next 2 seasons I franchised him and still refused to negotiate, eventually I just let him walk and it was the right choice in the end.
Corey Krueger- I drafted him 12th overall after our 7-9 season in 2022. He would have been a top 5 pick probably top 3 based off potential, but he has chararcter issues so he fell. I needed a back and he had a lot of talent do I took a chance and boy was it a great decision. He won the Player of the Year (mvp) in both his seasons so far and was rookie of the year last season. He has taken the burden off of our QB and is looking like the next Walter Peyton or Adrian Peterson.
Junior Kloosterman- This is another interesting one. In the 2019 we had the 3rd overall pick, and the Giants had the first. We both needed a QB so I traded up to the 1st pick only giving up the 3rd pick in the draft and a future 1st (it ended up being the 2nd pick in 2021, but to get your franchise QB it's worth it). His first 4 seasons he was a backup. He was like Paxton Lynch in a way lots of upside but is very raw. He was average in his first season as starter, but was very good the next to seasons, leading us to a super bowl ring in 2023. He missed 5 games however in 2024 in 2 separate stints so our offense wasn't consistent this year, and that resulted in us finishing 8-8.
That was just this years Superbowl
My next post will be highlighting some star players on our team.
Idk why that screenshot is down there.
