2029 Most Valuable Player Award
The year 2029 brings us yet another first, one that has forced the renaming of the "Silver Slugger" award to the "Most Valuable Player Award". The reason the award was renamed is because a pitcher has won the award for the first time...
Georgetown Ace Named DE Conference MVP
When you have the type of year Ricardo González did, it's no surprise when you get named the recipient of the MVP Award.
The 26-year-old captured the award for the Delaware Conference today, after a year in which the Georgetown Sixteens pitcher excelled.
In 32 starts he piled up 236.2 innings, had 306 strikeouts with 45 walks and a 1.41 ERA. González held opposing hitters to a .188 batting average and compiled a 12.5 WAR along the way.
Ryan Sutton of the New Castle Colonials finished second in voting, while Mike Johnson of the Milton Brewers finished third.
2029 Best Player Picked By MarVa Conference
Manuel Miranda took DELMARVA Baseball League by storm this year and he did it all at the age of 20.
For his spectacular campaign, the Washington Senators star has been named the 2029 MarVa Conference MVP Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is pretty overwhelming," said the first baseman.
On the season he compiled a .317 batting average to go with a .371 on-base percentage. The native of Maracaibo, Venezuela also added 26 doubles, 3 triples, 53 home runs, 135 RBIs and 103 runs scored.
Ricardo Hidalgo of the Washington Senators finished second in voting, while Ryan Urbina of the Ocean City Tourists finished third.
Ricardo Gonzalez
A look at Ricardo Gonzalez history in the DBL, at only 26 years old the future remains super bright for this kid. If (WHEN) I leave the Sixteens this is the type of pitcher that you'd want around to build your team around. He is great in the clubhouse and he can turn any game around at any time. It was an amazing season having him on my team.
