Georgetown Sixteens Hurler DE Conference's Premier Pitcher
The Georgetown Sixteens have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making.
It's Ricardo González, this year's Delaware Conference Golden Arm Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.
González compiled a 18-3 record in 32 starts, tallied 306 strikeouts in 236.2 innings and recorded a 1.41 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .188 batting average against him.
Júlio Rocha of the Milton Brewers finished second in voting, while Gonzalo Bustamante of the Georgetown Sixteens finished third.
Top Pitcher Trophy Won by Blue Crabs Cortés
António Cortés of the Chesapeake Blue Crabs was in command and couldn't do much wrong when he was on the mound this season. His outstanding 17-7 won-lost mark and 2.46 ERA were big factors in his winning the 2029 MarVa Conference Golden Arm Award.
In 234 innings of work and 32 starts, Cortés struck out 243 while giving up 171 hits and 40 walks. He held opposing batters to a .201 average.
Joaquín Hernández of the Norfolk Cavaliers finished second in voting, while Paul Brown of the Norfolk Cavaliers finished third.
