Not many boner producing seasons? Somebody's baseball boner needs a little Viagra. Look at 2008 thru 2018. During that time, Mr. Stamper put up a .303/.373/.560 slash line (OBP is approximate due to some of the stats that go into it not being present), with an average of 97 R, 37 2B, 38 HR, and 117 RBI. Yes, he played in Colorado for all but one of those seasons. So what? (side note: How long are the writers gonna hold that against Larry Walker? Dude could flat out rake, hit with power, run, throw, play defense - Ok, off my soap box)
Stamper put up approximately a 160 OPS+ over those 11 seasons, which is awesome, plus he won 4 MVPs, 6 Gold Gloves, went to 9 All-Star games and won 9 Silver Sluggers, presumably all during that time. That is an amazing peak. I agree that it is not 100.0% HoF induction amazing, but let's try not to punch holes where there are none (or very few anyway).
As for the 3,000 Hit, 500 HR comment, er, there are only five players that have done that in history and two of them are admitted steroid users. I get that the guy received an inner circle HoFer vote total without being an inner circle HoF guy.
A 90.9 career WAR/59.3 7 yr peak WAR/75.1 JAWS is pretty remarkable for a 3B though. IRL, that career WAR would put him fourth behind only Mike Schmidt, Eddie Mathews, and a hair behind Wade Boggs (ahead of G. Brett, C. Jones, A. Beltre, B. Robinson, P. Molitor, R. Santo, and S. Rolen). The 7 year peak WAR takes a back seat to nobody IRL, while the JAWS is behind Schmidt and just barely behind Mathews. Maybe he is inner circle after all? Hmm. Nobody has received 100.0% of the vote IRL though, and I'm not sure anyone should in OOTP either, but this guy's a stud.
