I'm running a game with a junior team, and I traded for a player within the league on an active roster who has an NHL contract (meaning I can technically only trade for his rights). When I make the deal, the player goes onto my protected list, but there's no way for me to put him on my active roster; he remains assigned to the previous team.
I'm assuming this is because the NHL club, being higher up the proverbial food chain, controls his assignment in-game. Is there any way I can work around this and get the player I traded for onto my roster?
