San Jose Star Takes Triple Crown: Blue Wave first baseman Jim Frame will look back on 2017 as a magical season after eclipsing his peers in the three major batting categories -- batting average, home runs and RBIs. He batted .343 with 51 home runs and 149 RBIs to pick up the 1st Triple Crown in BBA play.

"It's been an incredible year," said a smiling Frame, "I really can't explain how this happened. A lot of things have to go your way to accomplish something like this. You have to stay healthy and you have to stay away from long slumps."

The San Jose skipper told reporters at the press conference, "There were days when Jim played hurt. It really is amazing the things he has done this year."

The latest Triple Crown winner added, "I'm thankful to Blue Wave fans and to my teammates for their encouragement. It was a joy to come to the ballpark every day."
