You won't be able to have fixed rivalries in inter league. The system used numbers for schedules. So this year team 1 (al east Canada team) plays team 18 (NL east Canada team)

At the end of this season, the Yankees are in first place (they are now team 1) and the Phillies finish in team 18 spot

In the second year, the Yankees play the Phillies.
