Stats Amazing: World Series winners
Welcome to the first edition of our new occasional column, where our resident statistician and sabermetrician, Joe Nahill, presents some of the history of the Dynastic Era of Baseball.
What is now commonly termed the Dynastic Era of Baseball began in 2015 when Paulie Beane took over as general manager of the Oakland A's. And the A's have certainly been the dominant force during the Dynastic Era, winning five World Series trophies and finishing runner up in their sixth fall classic appearance last year. The only other multiple winners are Cleveland and the Los Angeles Dodgers, who both have two championships apiece. Thanks to Oakland, the American League have the head-to-head edge, having won 9 of the 14 Dynastic Era World Series match-ups so far. Those winners in full:
2015 - Oakland
2016 - Cleveland
2017 - LA Dodgers
2018 - Pittsburgh
2019 - Texas
2020 - LA Dodgers
2021 - Minnesota
2022 - Atlanta
