We are 0-2 against our old teammate so far. He has lost 5 of his last 6 starts.

Won - 8 to 3

Rice allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 10.

Townley gave us 15 hits, 2 walks and struck out 7. At bat, he drew a walk and scored a run.

We made 4 errors and Cleveland made 3.

2B Ed Aldrich (24-6.8) had 3 hits and scored a run. His hitting streak is not at 14 games. CF Ren Dunbar (24-6.8) had 3 hits, stole 2 bases and scored 2 runs. 1B Sam Cowan (32-5.1) had a hit and 2 walks, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. RF Ben Smith (29-6.7) had 2 hits with a triple, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. C Cliff Robinson (30-6.1) had 3 hits with a double and 3 RBIs. LF Al Lewis (22-9.1) had 2 hits and scored a run. SS Reddy Daley (24-6.8) hit a double and had an RBI.

Liberty League:

New York (5) at Louisville (4): Miah Turner (27-5.3) (15-10) over William McLeod (29-5.6) (13-13). CF Jimmy Sleeman (25-3.3) hurt his back and will miss 2 to 3 weeks.

Boston (2) at Cincinnati (5): John Stevens (31-8.2) (14-13) over William Little (27-6.0) (15-12). Stevens allowed 8 hits, 3 walks and struck out 6. 2B Ed Kent (24-3.6), last season's Rookie of the Year, tore something in his shoulder and will miss about 6 weeks.

Pittsburgh (5) at Indianapolis (4): Tom Lilly (28-6.4) (18-9) over Jimmy Euler (27-5.5) (11-5). RF Joe Coffey (32-5.2) had 3 hits with a triple, stole a base, scored a run and had 3 RBIs. LF Billy Galloway (27-5.3) hit his 2nd home run of the season.

Grand National Association:

Kansas City (2) at St. Louis (9) Game 1: Fred Barrow (36-4.7) (4-12) over Dan Butler (31-4.7) (5-10). Barrow allowed 4 hits, 3 walks and struck out 7.

Kansas City (16) at St. Louis (4) Game 2: Piggy Lambert (24-8.2) (7-8) over Jimmy Richards (25-0.9) (11-11). Richards has lost 5 of his last 6 and has allowed 27 runs in his last 2 starts. LF Lou Baggett (26-4.2) had 3 hits, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had 4 RBIs. CF Heinie Ashmore (23-6.0) hit his 3rd home run of the year. Rookie RF Ed Anderson (20-7.5) had 2 hits with a double and 2 walks, stole 2 bases, scored 4 runs and had 2 RBIs.

Washington (3) at Providence (4): Ed Wison (27-7.3) (8-9) over Ed Bush (28-5.3) (10-17). CF Tom Herold (23-6.4) doubled home the winning run in the bottom of the 9th. Wison allowed 6 hits, 3 walks and struck out 4. Bush allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 6. For the Monuments, LF Cal Campbell (29-7.2) hit his 3rd home run of the year.

Brooklyn (3) at Omaha (2): Tom Homer (24-5.0) (4-4) over Lee Sprague (28-3.5) (16-4). Brooklyn scored twice in the top of the 9th to take the lead on a 2-run, 2-out triple by LF Monte Moody (30-6.9). Homer allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 3. Sprague allowed 5 hits, no walks and struck out 7. At bat, he had 2 hits and an RBI.

Chicago (4) at Milwaukee (5): Al Bedingfield (25-2.8) (2-1) over Skyrocket Howard (23-5.4) (2-5). RF Ted Steeves (26-4.2) had 2 hits with his 4th home run of the season, stole a base and had 3 RBIs.
