Detroit Wolverines (36-19 .655 in 1st place)

Miah Turner, N.Y. (37-5.3) (R 12-8 2.54 7.3-1.3-4.8 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Al Rice, Det. (23-7.6) (L 17-6 2.14 7.7-0.9-5.3)

We are 2-1 against Turner so far.

Won - 5 to 4

We scored 3 times in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game and then 1B Sam Cowan (32-5.1) singled home the winning run with 1-out in the bottom of the 9th.

Rice allowed 6 hits, no walks and struck out 6.

Turner gave us 10 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1.

We made 4 errors and New York made 7.

3B Ed Aldrich (24-6.8) had 2 hits and a walk, scored a run and had an RBI. He is finally starting to heat up: in his last 4 games, he has 7 hits and 3 walks. CF Ren Dunbar (24-6.8), who has been hot all along, had 3 hits and a walk, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI. C Cliff Robinson (30-6.1) had a hit and 2 RBIs. LF Al Lewis (22-9.1) had 2 hits, stole 2 bases and scored a run.

For the Gothams, LF Fred James (24-5.3) hit a double and his 5th home run of the season, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs.

Liberty League:
Boston (0) at Indianapolis (6): Jimmy Euler (27-5.5) (9-3) over William Little (27-6.0) (13-10). Euler allowed 4 hits, 2 walks and struck out 3.

Cincinnati (4) at Pittsburgh (3) in 11 innings: John Stevens (31-8.2) (10-13) over Tom Lilly (28-6.4) (16-7). In 11 innings, Stevens allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. The Reds did not score a run until the 9th inning, when they scored 3 times to tie the game. 3B Bill Parsons (30-8.3) had 3 hits with 2 RBIs, including both the game-tying RBI in the 9th and the go-ahead RBI in the 11th.

Louisville (5) at Cleveland (2): William McLeod (29-5.6) (12-11) over Lou Townley (26-3.4) (15-9). McLeod allowed 6 hits, 4 walks and struck out 4. Ex-Wolverine LF Pat Womack (27-6.3) had 3 hits, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

Grand National Association:
Brooklyn (5) at Milwaukee (10): Kid Henze (23-5.2) (3-3) over Tom Homer (24-5.0) (2-3). 3B Dave Gray (27-4.9) had 3 hits with a double and his 2nd home run of the year, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs.
