Cleveland Spiders (22-26 .458 9 GB tied for 4th place in the Liberty League) at
Detroit Wolverines (31-17 .646 1st place)

Artie Boucher, Clev. (25-6.1) (R 3-12 5.36 11.9-2.6-2.7 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Al Rice, Det. (23-7.6) (R 16-4 2.02 7.4-1.0-5.5)

The 1st time we faced Boucher we won 4 to 3.

Lost - 8 to 4

Rice allowed 13 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4.

Boucher gave us 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 1. At bat, he hit a double, scored a run and had an RBI.

We made 6 errors and Cleveland made 2.

CF Fred Bianco (29-6.9) had 2 hits and an RBI. 3B Sam Boullion (28-4.8) hit a double. 1B Sam Cowan (32-5.1) had 2 hits with a double and a walk. Ren Dunbar (24-6.8) hit a pinch-hit double, scored a run and had an RBI.

For the Spiders, C Pony Link (27-5.5) had 2 hits with a home run and a walk, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had 4 RBIs. LF Ace Trimmell (30-5.0) had 3 hits with 2 doubles, scored a run and had an RBI. Rookie 1B Zachary Pfeiffer (20-4.5) had 3 hits and scored a run.

Liberty League:

New York (5) at Louisville (3) in 13 innings: Jack Roberts (36-6.1) (3-4) over Jumbo Hoops (23-6.5) (5-4). In 13 innings, Roberts allowed 9 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4. LF Fred James (24-5.3) had 3 hits with a double and scored 2 runs, including the go-ahead run in the top of the 13th.

Pittsburgh (2) at Indianapolis (3): Jimmy Euler (27-5.5) (7-2) over Tom Lilly (28-6.4) (14-6). Indianapolis scored all 3 of their runs in the 8th inning. Euler allowed 6 hits, no walks and struck out 3. Lilly allowed 4 hits, 1 walk and struck out 7.

Grand National Association:

Brooklyn (4) at Chicago (5) in 10 innings: Pony Stanley (25-6.2) (11-6) over William David (25-3.6) (11-9). The winning run scored on a 2-out passed ball. Stanley allowed 5 hits, 3 walks and struck out 6. LF Candy Simpson (29-6.8) hit his 2nd home run of the season.

Omaha (5) at St. Louis (3): Lee Sprague (28-3.5) (11-2) over Fred Barrow (36-4.7) (3-9). Sprague allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 3. Rookie RF Tom Nelson (23-5.2) hit his 3rd home run of the year.

Washington (6) at Milwaukee (8): Zachary Buchanan (27-4.0) (14-7) over Pop Yurkovich (36-5.6) (8-10). 2B Lou Bohus (28-5.4) had 3 hits and a walk, stole 2 bases, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.
