We are back home to begin a 4 game series with manager John Cusick (47-7.5) and his Hoosiers today. Cusick only recently took over the team and they have gone 3-1 since his arrival. Way back at the end of April we took 3 of 4 from them in Indianapolis. They are 5th in the League in scoring runs with 4.5 per game (Detroit is #4 with 4.8). They are 7th in runs allowed with 5.4 per game (Detroit is #1 with 3.3).

Indianapolis Hoosiers (18-25 .419 10 GB in 7th place in the Liberty League) at
Detroit Wolverines (28-15 .651 1st place)

Jimmy Euler, Ind. (27-5.5) (R 5-1 2.65 7.5-2.3-3.0 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Al Rice, Det. (23-7.6) (R 14-4 2.08 7.4-1.1-5.6)

We are 0-1 against Euler so far this season.

Won - 3 to 2

Rice allowed 8 hits, no walks and struck out 3.

Euler gave us 4 hits, no walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had a hit.

We made 2 errors and Indianapolis made 4.

CF Ren Dunbar (24-6.8) had 2 hits. RF Ben Smith (28-6.7) hit a double and scored a run.

Liberty League:
Pittsburgh (9) at Cleveland (3): Tom Lilly (28-6.4) (13-5) over Artie Boucher (25-6.1) (3-11). Lilly allowed 10 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. RF Jake Howard (29-4.6), who was a Spider 2 weeks ago, had 4 hits with 2 doubles and a walk, scored 3 runs and had an RBI. C Evan Eckberg (32-3.5) had 2 hits with a double, scored a run and had 4 RBIs.

Louisville (0) at Cincinnati (5): William Butina (25-5.6) (4-7) over Mert Gross (30-5.8) (0-2). Butina allowed 6 hit, 2 walks and struck out 3.

New York (20) at Boston (6): Tom McDowell (24-8.0) (8-8) over Ducky Hogan (27-5.3) (0-1) in relief of William Little (27-6.0). Little only faced 1 batter and had to leave with an injury, but will be okay by tomorrow. Hogan, normally a shortstop, took one for the team. Since the New York batters fattened their averages on a non-pitcher, we are not going to point them all out except to mention that 1B John Hilliard (28-7.2) hit his 3rd home run of the season. For the Shamrocks, LF Charlie Warner (34-9.2) hit 2 home runs and had 4 RBIs. He now has 9 home runs on the season and is the League leader.

Grand National Association:

Omaha (6) at Providence (3): Royal Parmelee (27-6.5) (1-3) over Jimmy Harrison (21-4.6) (0-1) in his major league debut. SS Dave Henderson (25-4.1) had 3 hits with a double and his 4th home run of the year, drew a walk, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs.
