The AI will only dress a player if needed. In your case it still had enough player dressed, so it made the lines you posted. If you dress the 6th d-man yourself, it would use it for the lines.
I know the concept of AI/Human Manager in the different areas is not optimal at the moment. We will now sit down and better define the roles and what it makes and not make with the different settings.

I think most NHL teams will try to dress 6 (or even 7) defensemen if they have them on the roster unless they have a uncommon player like Dustin Byfuglien who plays both forward and defense. Most of the teams in the NHL will over-shift the 5 remaining defensemen if one of the six starters gets injured during a game over putting a forward on defense. I am not referring to penalty killing or power play situations, or the shift after such, where players get caught out of position on the ice, but at even strength.
