The fans of the Tigers continue to enjoy their teams presence in the top half of the AL table even if the form during May saw a slight dip. The team picked up a winning record during the month of 14 wins and 13 losses. They fell to 3rd in the AL table 9.5 games behind the leaders.

The teams better form is down to the improvements the batting has made. This was the case in the form of Right Fielder Mike Teirnan. Tiernan managed to collect 43 hits from 104 at bats in 27 games. He scored 21 runs with 31 RBI's for an average of .413. These figures earned him the AL batter of the month award.
