The Cleveland Spiders are the class of the AL this year but with a long way to go their fans are hoping they can show this all the way to the end of the season. The month of May produced an excellent 20-5 record for the team as they extended their lead at the top of the AL table to 3 games.

Short Stop Ed McKean continues to have an up and down season. He returned from injury early in the month only to find himself back on the sidelines at the end of the month after he bruised a wrist. He will miss a further 2 weeks of the season through this injury.
The team's strong form was led by the pitching staff and especially starter Adonis Terry. Terry won all 8 of the games he started. He pitched 72 innings to give up 57 hits and 18 earned runs for an ERA of 2.25. These figures earned him the AL Pitcher of the Month award.
