It was good news on the injury front for the Bridegrooms when they had the return to fitness of Left Fielder Jim O'Rourke early in the month.
Short Stop Herman Long put up some excellent numbers during May. He claimed 37 hits from his 111 at bats in 27 games. He scored 25 runs with 10 RBI's for an average of .333. These figures earned him the NL Rookie of the Month award.
