The team didn't fair to well in the injury lists this month. They lost Second Baseman Monte Ward for 2 weeks during the month with a concussion while Left Fielder Ed Beecher tore his meniscus in his knee and will be sidelined for 5-6 weeks.
The team lost Centre Fielder Holly Hollingshead to the Boston Beaneaters via waivers.
New Short Stop Ollie Beard showed signs of what could be a promising career ahead in his first full month of top level ball. He managed to collect 41 hits from 109 at bats during his 26 starts. He scored 22 runs with 21 RBI's for an average of .376. The NL voters were so impressed they voted him the Rookie of the Month for April.
