The fans of the Bridegrooms were hoping for better from their team to start the season but are happy they are not to far off of the leaders. April saw the team pick up a record of 13-15 to move themselves into 6th place in the NL table, 5 games behind the leaders.

Left Fielder Jim O'Rourke has not started the season in good shape after he sprained his thumb in a game. He will miss 2 weeks of the season with this injury.

The team lost Short Stop Fred Corey and Left Fielder Buttercup Dickerson to the Boston Beaneaters via waivers.

The fans of the NL decided that the best batter in the month was Second Baseman Hardy Richardson and awarded him the April NL Batter of the Month award. His figures for the month saw him claim 40 hits from 115 at bats in 27 games. He scored 26 runs with 18 RBI's for an average of .348. His team mate Dave Orr also had a good month with an average of .352.
