The fans of the White Stockings are still celebrating last seasons championship win and as the new season comes upon them they are hoping the good vibes will translate into the players producing the same form this year. The independent league assessors have judged the squad and don't feel it has quite the same depth as last year and are predicting the team to fall short of the NL pennant this year with a 2nd place finish. This they think will also result in a record of 87-67.
The MLB have decided not to make any changes this year and have left the season as 154 games long.
The players were expecting spring training to be tough but what they got surprised even them as the GM and Manager made sure they would be fitter and better prepared than ever to try and defend the MLB Championship title they won last year.
